Kirsten was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. She attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida on a full swimming scholarship earning her degree in Hotel Restaurant Management. She served as the Co-Team Captain her senior and was selected the No Pain, No Gain Recipient.
Kirsten was recruited by The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company and worked in management roles at the Ritz Carltons in Amelia Island, Florida and Houston, Texas. After her hotel industry career, she joined AIM Management selling mutual funds as well as became part of the team that launched the AIM Capital Funds, an offshore mutual funds product. Before relocating to Florida, she was the Offshore Funds Manager guiding the sales of the offshore funds.
After relocating to Southern California, she joined her husband as part owners in Aviara Real Estate located in Westlake Village, CA.

An avid surfer, you can find Kirsten and her family in their free time at the beaches from Malibu to Rincon or training karate at the dojo. She has been married to Richard since 1994 and is the proud mother of their daughter, Kaitlin. Kirsten is involved in the PTA of their daughter’s school and she served on the Board of Directors for the Malibu Surfing Association.
